Jane was born and raised in Alhambra. She attended Garfield Elementary and Alhambra High School. After high school, Jane attended University of California, Santa Barbara where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and California Teaching Credential. She later received her Master of Arts in Education at California State University Los Angeles.
Jane taught in the Alhambra Unified School District for thirty-five years. She worked at Repetto Elementary School for one year with the remainder of her career at Monterey Highlands Elementary School. During her tenure she served as a master teacher, mentor to new teachers, and School Improvement Coordinator. She often provided teacher in-service training to her colleagues in science and mathematics. Jane also was active in the Alhambra Teachers Association serving on the bargaining team for many years and as President in 1978. After retiring in 2002, Jane participated as a mentor teacher in the BTSA program for the District.
Jane Anderson has a passion for students. Her vision is that all children can learn and succeed. She is committed to maintaining fiscal solvency while providing the best educational program that Alhambra Unified School District can offer.
