BEST IN TOWN fall play flyer Please join Emery Park School at their One-Night-Only Performance of BEST IN TOWN written by Jennifer Lankford, Emery Park drama teacher. The story follows how: Oakley's channel is exploding! The newest series -"BEST in Town!" - has become so popular that it’s all they and their friends are up to on weekends anymore. Every Saturday the group visits a different nearby town to check out businesses that claim to have the best version of what they sell, and Oakley counts on her pals to be her crew to film and edit her content. Oakley films everything and nothing happens unless the camera is rolling. Each stop contains some sort of funny or educational interaction or adventure that Oakley’s friends get to enjoy, but that Oakley completely misses while worrying about the perfect lighting, thumbnails, retakes, likes, comments and subscribers. The friends begin quietly noticing that they are creating memories Oakley isn’t experiencing with them. Oakley eventually understands they have videos of everything and memories of almost nothing. But perhaps it’s not too late to put their phone down and pay attention to what is actually going on around them. By doing this, they can stop spending so much of their energy on followers they will never meet, and actually tend to the important friendships they’ve been neglecting.
