Announcement of Provisional Appointment to the Board of Education of the Alhambra Unified School District

The Office of the Superintendent of the Alhambra Unified School District announces that the vacancy in Trustee Area 2 of the AUSD Board of Education, created by the resignation of Mr. Kenneth Tang effective August 6, 2025, was filled by provisional appointment by the Board of Education at a Special Board Meeting held on September 9, 2025, in accordance with Education Code §5091 and §5093.

Ms. Nora Corona Hernandez was provisionally appointed to fill the seat vacated by Mr. Kenneth Tang. Ms. Hernandez shall hold office until the next regularly scheduled election for governing board members, which will take place in November 2026, and shall be afforded all the powers and duties of a Board member upon appointment.

Unless a petition calling for a special election pursuant to Education Code §5091 is filed in the Office of the Los Angeles County Superintendent within 30 days of the provisional appointment, it shall become an effective appointment.
