Monterey Highlands School wins first place in FBLA Middle-Level Chapter Sweepstakes

 
 
 

After competing against many high schools and another middle school, Monterey Highlands garnered a number of awards at the Feb. 28  Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Mission Valley Section Conference including first place in the Middle-Level Chapter Sweepstakes. 

 

Monterey Highlands students also won 12 individual awards: Tiffany Lai won first and second place in the FBLA Creed competition and Public Speaking I, respectively; Sabrina Sy won second and seventh place in Public Speaking II and Business Communication, respectively; Theodore Tran won sixth place in both Intro to IT and Cybersecurity; Andrew Hom won fifth and eighth place in Business Math and Intro to IT, respectively; Kaleigh Lien won third place in Job Interview; Manuel Holguin won third place in Cybersecurity; and Tiffany Neth won second and fifth place in Future Business Leader and Job Interview, respectively.  Kiana Sotelo, Ashley Lui, Paulyn Sreekhwan, Jayden Young, Christine Huynh, Kaylie Chuman, Timothy Chuman, Sarena Scott, Ian Ordonez, and Annabella Wu also competed and did well in their competitions. 

 

Based on Monterey Highlands’ showing, eight students will be competing in the FBLA’s state conference on April 9-12 in Santa Clara. Monterey Highlands will also be recognized at the April conference for completing the FBLA’s Government Awareness Project, Adoption Project, and Go Green Project.
