 Suspension of California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)

Two Laws that cover the suspension of CAHSEE:

SB172

Senate Bill 172 suspends CAHSEE for three school years 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.

This law is retroactive to school year 2003-04 – 2013-14. Students qualify for a diploma if they have met all graduation requirements with the exception of the CAHSEE.

This law became effective January 1, 2016.

Diplomas issued under this law will have a diploma date of Feb 4, 2016

 

SB 725

Senate Bill 725 specifically deals with school year 2014-15. Students who completed grade 12 and met all conditions to graduate with the exception of the CAHSEE are eligible to receive a diploma.

This bill was enacted on August 26, 2015.

Diplomas issued under this law will have a diploma date of August 26, 2015.
