AUSD Hosts Annual LCAP Expo

On Saturday, October 29, Alhambra Unified School District held its annual LCAP EXPO at San Gabriel High School. The annual event was well attended by parents, students and community members. The objective of the event was educate all stakeholders about the District’s LCAP, which is a three year academic plan that the District must update annually and requires input from stakeholders. Included in the LCAP are goals that address the eight State priorities and services that will be provided to stakeholders with a focus on increasing student achievement. The LCAP also includes a detailed budget for expenditures to meet the goals and actions. The many attendees were shown displayed LCAP information, student work/presentations, performances by elementary and high school bands and booths manned by members of the Alhambra Fire & Police Departments.

A new addition to this year’s EXPO was the inclusion of the District Food Fair. Attendees were invited into the cafeteria and were provided with an opportunity to taste and rank a variety of food samples that could possibly end up as menu items in the school cafeteria. The LCAP Expo came to closure with door prizes being given to some fortunate attendees. Dr. Gary Gonzales, Asst. Superintendent, commented, “This is a great event for the entire community to come out and see what is going on at our wonderful schools”.
