MKHS Girls Basketball Star Signs NCAA Letter of Intent

Last month, Mark Keppel High School senior basketball player Alyssa Lee signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her athletic and educational career at the University of Redlands. This past season, Alyssa led the Aztecs to a 22-6 overall record and an undefeated 10-0 record in the Almont League. She also led both her team and the Almont League in scoring with 12.5 points per game, including a memorable, season high 21 points in a 72-37 victory over Montebello High School in January. Her consistent play and leadership earned her “Player of the Game” recognitions ten times this past season and was selected to the 2017 Pasadena Star-News' All-Area Team to cap off her distinguished career at MKHS.

Alyssa celebrated her singing day with a special ceremony held in the MKHS gymnasium and was attended by her parents, teammates, Head Coach Jose Hererra, Athletic Director Heather Semelmacher and Principal John Scanlan. At the University of Redlands, Alyssa will compete at the NCAA Division III level in the Southern California Intercollegiate Conference.
