Garfield Elementary makes a handprint mural

After postponing it twice due to the weather, Garfield School finally had its Mural Day on Tuesday, December 4th. The mural, which was completely made with handprints, was sponsored by SPARK Afterschool Academy. All students (over 700), staff and many parents had the opportunity to put their marks on the wall featuring the Garfield Wildcat.

Principal Anna Kuo kicked off the process by putting her handprint on the wall. Starting at 8:30 am, each class was allotted 15 minutes to get their handprints done, with mural being completed by 2:30 pm. “The Academy donated the mural as part of its desire to see students, school and community members working together/having a hand in educating our children,” Principal Kuo said.
