Biography
Nora Corona Hernandez has been an active part of the Alhambra Unified School District family since 2006. Both of her children attended AUSD schools from elementary through high school, graduating from San Gabriel High School in 2020 and 2024 after starting their journeys at Marguerita Elementary and Granada Elementary.
Deeply committed to serving her community, Ms. Hernandez has held a variety of volunteer leadership roles, including serving in PTA leadership positions at Marguerita School, Granada School, and San Gabriel High School (SGHS), as well as President of the Alhambra Council PTA in 2016. She is also active in the athletic booster club and has supported the Community Schools Collaborative at SGHS, where she continues to champion meaningful opportunities for parents and families to have a voice in their children’s education.
In 2013, Ms. Hernandez briefly worked for AUSD as a substitute teacher, an experience that gave her a profound appreciation for the dedication and heart of the District’s educators. Her time in the classroom reinforced her passion for advocating for students, families, and staff.
Through nearly two decades of service and involvement, Ms. Hernandez has built a reputation as a collaborative leader who values family engagement, equity, and student success. She has a strong belief that parent engagement and community partnerships are essential to helping students thrive.
Ms. Hernandez is honored to serve on the Board of Education and to represent Trustee Area 2. She looks forward to continuing her advocacy for students, families, and schools across the District.
