Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSO)
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) are national student organizations designed to support students in Career Technical Education programs. Participation in CTSOs help students develop technical and leadership skills that will enable them to succeed in their career paths. CTSO activities help students develop positive attitudes, build self-esteem, and empower students to excel. They learn valuable professional skills such as communications, interpersonal abilities, time management, teamwork, and problem solving. Students are able to sharpen their personal leadership and career skills by participating as members and officers in competitive recognition events, leadership development activities, and community service projects.
NOTE: In order to participate in a CTSO, student must be enrolled in a CTE pathway affiliated with the specific CTSO. Affiliation varies by school site.
